DESCRIPTION:The Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY)\, co-sponsored by AABANY’s Issues Committee\, Immigration Committee\, and SAICBA-Q\, in coordination with Immigrant ARC and the New York Habeas Project at NYU Law School\, present a 90-minute virtual training on the use of habeas corpus to challenge immigrant detention in federal courts. \nThe program will feature a panel led by Karen Lucas and her team\, who will provide practical guidance on litigation strategies\, jurisdictional considerations\, and recent developments in habeas practice.
