The Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY), co-sponsored by AABANY’s Issues Committee, Immigration Committee, and SAICBA-Q, in coordination with Immigrant ARC and the New York Habeas Project at NYU Law School, present a 90-minute virtual training on the use of habeas corpus to challenge immigrant detention in federal courts.

The program will feature a panel led by Karen Lucas and her team, who will provide practical guidance on litigation strategies, jurisdictional considerations, and recent developments in habeas practice. A volunteer from the NY Habeas Project will also share firsthand experience representing detained individuals and how to become involved as a pro bono attorney.
