In the eighth episode of the American Bar Association’s “Meet The Presidents” Webinar Series, Christina Chelliah, Chair and Founder of the Foreign Trained Attorneys Network, spoke to SAICBA-Q President Asha Paulose about the history behind the unique nature of SAICBA-Q’s membership. Asha discussed how SAICBA-Q was formed to bring together attorneys of South Asian and Indo-Caribbean descent with a homebase in Queens, New York and to create a space for their shared values and lived experiences. One of the mission statements of SAICBA-Q is also to increase diversity in the judiciary, and Asha talked about how some of the original founding members now serve as Advisory Board Members who have since been called to the bench.
